The business climate in St. Pauls is, in a word, OUTSTANDING!
Our Town Board, Mayor and Town Administrator all work together to provide a business-friendly environment. Taxes are low, improvements to utilities and infrastructure are ongoing and there is a lot of community support for our Downtown Redevelopment. We are currently developing an Industrial Park just west of town which will give businesses a competitive advantage. There are a number of excellent properties in town which could be developed with minimal cost.
Infrastructure & Utilities
The Town of St. Pauls provides the water and sewer while Walane Gas supplies tank gas, Piedmont Natural Gas provides gas lines and hookups, Progress Energy supplies the electricity, Time-Warner Cable supplies high-speed internet and CenturyLink has a substation located in the center of town for high-speed DSL connections. While other municipalities are looking for ways to cut back on services, St. Pauls continues to improve ours. Currently the Town is undergoing a major upgrade to it's water and sewer systems. Storm water drainage is also being upgraded. Recycling has just recently been added to residential curb-side pickup service. Sidewalk reconditioning and other improvements are being made as needed. St. Pauls is a great place to consider moving to! Not only are we geographically in a great location for shopping, travel and vacations, but our climate is about perfect too! Not too hot like it is further south of us, and not too cold like it is north of us, we're in a sweet spot for temperate climes. Our climate is heavily influenced by the Gulf Stream and the North Carolina Mountains. The Gulf Stream brings us temperate air and the mountains block most of the northern iceberg express. We get plenty of sunshine (we ARE in the south after all), and rainfall is moderate. Our water supply is from an aquifer that is not shared by any other municipalities, so we don't have to worry about drought conditions nearly as much as other towns supplied by lakes, streams and rivers. As for real estate, there are a number of great properties for sale throughout the year, and you can expect to pay considerably less for comparable properties just up or down the road from us. There are a number of local area Realtors who would love to assist you and are waiting for your call. Check out the St. Pauls Chamber of Commerce web site HERE to locate a Realtor in our area.
